NewZealand held their nerves to win a close encounter. NewZealand were asked to bat under tough swinging conditions. The top order collapsed and they were 70 odd for 6. Then Elliot and Mills came together and built up a brilliant partnership. Elliot scored a half century while Mills scored 47. They took the score to 182. In the end this proved to be costly. England were bundled out for just 160. Thanks to some wonderful bowling by Southee who picked up three. Mills and Elliot picked up 2. Mills got the man of the match award.
