
Last year the alpha version of iPhone was launched. In introducing the IPhone 3G on Monday, Apple launched more than just a smartphone with a faster data connection. The company also made a major strategic play for developers, which it is depending on to drive the device deeper into business and consumer markets.
Key to that strategy is delivering the development tools necessary to make building applications as fast and easy as possible on the new version of the iPhone operating system, which ships in early July. In addition, features within version 2.0 of the platform goes beyond whats needed for customers. This has led to the sales of almost 6 million iPhones.
