England just demoralized the Kiwis in the third Test at Old Trafford by giving them an innings defeat. Kiwis lost the match by an innings and 9 runs. England batted first and put on a score of 364, thanks to a great knock by Pieterson. Kiwis went on to bat and they couldn't handle the heroics of English bowling. If the first innings belonged to Anderson, then the second belonged to SideBottom. Anderson picked up 7 wickets while Sidebottom picked up 6 in the second innings to wrap up the match as well as the series. England won the series 2-1. Strauss and Daniel Vettori were named the players of the series while Anderson won the man of the match award.
