Ranatunga blames IPL

India's humiliation at the hands of Sri Lanka in the first Test in Colombo has not only led to criticism from all quarters in Indian cricket, but has also left Sri Lankan cricket bemused. Former captain Arjuna Ranatunga for one does not see India's inept batting display as the sole reason. He thinks the Indian Premier League has led to batsmen forgetting the basics of Test cricket.
