Microsoft is all set to close its book search facility. It seems that it does not want to stay in the digitized content and feels its partners would do that instead. The scanning equipment will and indexed give to its library and digitizing partners. Over the time the scanner had scanned 750000 books 80 million journal articles. This follows a strategic shift as pointed out by Bill Gates in Advance 08.
